1) How long will it take to receive my order?
All garters are custom sewn to your request. We try to ship all orders within 4 business days
of the order date, but during prom season it could take up to 4 weeks before we can ship it
depending on how many orders we have. March, April, and May are the busiest months of the
year. Garters are shipped via USPS first class mail, which takes about 2–4 business days
from the time we ship (this is only an estimate and could vary). See
Ordering Information for more information.
Local pick-up is available; we call you when your garter is ready. For this option, please send
us a note during PayPal checkout.
2) How do I know my size for a garter?
Measure the width of your leg 3 inches above the knee. See Ordering Information for details.
3) Do you sell toss garters?
No, but we offer Narrow Band garters, which can be created plain without a charm, feather,
flower, or bow. A white Narrow Band with light blue ribbon would be great for a toss garter.
We can match the colors of your toss garter to your keepsake garter, it's your choice.

4) I want a specific charm for my garter, can you special order it?
If you want a certain charm and we don't carry it, email us the details and we will see if we can special order it.
5) What color would the bow be if I order the black Zebra or Leopard ribbon?
For the black zebra garter the bow will be black or white — you must specify which color you
want. For the leopard garter the bow will be toffee. If you would like a different color bow
just tell us at the time you place the order in the "special instructions" box at checkout.
6) What if I don't have a PayPal account?
When you continue to checkout, PayPal will give you the option to pay with a credit or debit
card instead. PayPal collects payment from you and we receive the payment from PayPal. This
is a secure way of paying. We will never receive your credit card information through our
website, which is not secure. [Secure sites are those shown as "https://..." The "s" stands
for "secure", and a security cerificate icon will appear in your browser address bar.] PayPal
accepts VISA, Master Card, DISCOVER, and American Express. The screen shot below shows what
you'll see when you continue to checkout. On your left it gives you the option to pay with
your credit or debit card. Click on "Continue" and you'll see the second screen shown below,
where you will input your debit or credit card details, review your order, and leave any
special instruction messages for us.
7) What color imprint should I pick for a personalized ribbon?
Don't choose a dark color imprint when you've selected a dark color ribbon (i.e. a black
imprint might not show well on dark color ribbons, silver and gold might not show well on
pastel colored ribbons, and a white imprint might not show well on light colored ribbons). We
have a few personalized ribbon garter samples that you can see under
Prom Designs and
Wedding Designs.
8) I have to order my bridesmaids garters. Do you offer discounts for large orders?
Send us the details in advance and we will try to offer a discount depending on the total.
9) Can you explain how to order a double ribbon garter?
The picture below should help you understand more about how the ribbon colors you choose are
placed on the base of the garter. Ribbon #1 will always be on the bottom and Ribbon #2 on top.
The bow will also follow the same order (ribbon #1 on the bottom and ribbon #2 on top). If you
want to alternate the colors of the bow, for example, you want black to be on top of the bow
and the Light Blue on the bottom; tell us in the "Special Instructions" box at checkout.
The double ribbon is optional and it costs $2 extra. Garter shown here: Silver narrow band base,
black ribbon (no extra cost), double ribbon option on light blue ($2 extra), and a silver charm.
10) What is the base and ribbon?
The picture below should help you understand what the base and ribbon is when you're creating
your garter. The ribbon (light gold) is placed onto the base (canary narrow band), which is
the thicker part of the garter.
11) For a satin garter with heart embroidery, what color will the embroidery be?
The picture below should help you understand more about how to determine which color embroidery
will look best. This garter could either have white or turquoise embroidery (this is a matter of
choice). First, you need to understand that light color embroidery will not show well on ivory
or white satin and dark embroidery will not show well on black satin. Garter shown here:
Black satin w/heart embroidery base, zebra ribbon ($1 extra), turquoise embroidery and single
ribbon bow (no extra charge but must specify at checkout which color you want), personalization
in black ($6 extra), and a crystal heart charm ($3.99 extra).
12) Why you don't offer leopard, zebra, or camouflage in the double ribbon option?
For a double ribbon garter we place the second ribbon on top of the first ribbon so it will cover
about half of the first ribbon. If you choose the zebra as the base ribbon and then a second ribbon
to go on top, it will cover most of the zebra ribbon. We cannot put the zebra ribbon on top of the
first ribbon because unfortunately we don't carry that size ribbon in these special ribbons.
However, we can make double ribbon bows for those garters. In this case, you would order the
double ribbon option ($2) and specify at checkout which color you want on top and which on the

shocking pink single bow (no extra charge), personalized ribbon ($6 extra), and a silver charm

13) I'm not sure what would look good with my dress. If I send you a photo of my dress can
you make a recommendation?
Yes, we can design a garter for you at no extra cost. Just e-mail the photo of your dress to
info@garterboutique.com and tell us which base
you prefer (narrow sheer, satin, or wide organza). We'll choose the colors for you and will
let you know what we recommend. You can then place the order for our recommendation, or with
your own revisions to our recommendation.
14) I have something else in mind, do you make special orders?
Yes, you can send us an e-mail info@garterboutique.com
to tell us exactly what you would like and we will send you a quote. The garter shown here is a
special order using materials we already carry, however if we don’t carry something that you have
in mind, we might be able to still make it. If you want to use the same fabric as your dress,
that could also be possible. Garter shown here: Combination of 3 bases —
